The West Los Angeles College Subcommittee was formed to comment on the Environmental Impact Report that was prepared in connection with the College’s expansion program, and as part of that process it negotiated a Memorandum of Understanding with the Community College District that requires certain steps be taken to mitigate the impacts of the College on its neighbors. Since the signing of this Agreement in 2004, members of the Subcommittee have met regularly with the College in an effort to see that the agreed upon mitigation measures are performed.
As part of its mitigation program, the College agreed to name an ombudsperson who will be reachable on a 24 hour basis to deal with problems on the campus. If any Culver Crest resident is bothered by noise or other campus activity, they should call:
Leighton J. HickmanWLAC Build Team626-755-6844 cell310-287-4508 office
Alternatively, residents may call the campus office of the Los Angeles County Sheriff at (310) 287-4314, though they are only resident during the week as campus security is administered by a private security service on weekends.
The College maintains a web page providing updates on their construction program. This can be accessed at http://www.wlac.edu/events/West%20week%20back.html
