Another report from Laura D’Auri
This is to let you know that on Friday morning, March 28, 2008, at 7:15 a.m., I smelled gas/methane around my house again. The smell was not as strong as before, but I called Inspector Ash to report it.Unfortunately, I did not call 1-800-cut-smog also, and so they did not send out an inspector. However, I spoke with someone at the AQMD and the complaint was logged in.Inspector Ash called me back about the former complaint on March 15. He said to let everyone know that PXP is now on the AQMD “hot list.” This means that they do not need to wait for 3 complaints to send out an inspector. They will send an inspector on the first complaint, and right at the time the complaint is called in, even if it’s in the middle of the night. Therefore, it is important tomake the call as soon as someone notices the odor. Don’t wait until “office hours,” because an inspector can only be sent out right at the time the odor is identified. Once it has dissipated, AQMD can’t do anything. Laura D’Auri
