Agenda:
Culver Crest Residents:
For the past year members of our Neighborhood Association have worked on developing an Emergency Preparedness Program. Our commitment should a disaster strike is to “be prepared, not scared.”
We are launching a Street by Street canvassing effort to inventory community resources and skills, so should an emergency arise, we can coordinate efforts to facilitate everyone’s safety.
For example, if a serious earthquake were to occur, we may well have to fend for ourselves for hours or days as our Fire Dept will have to triage priorities as Culver City has over 150,000 people here by day. We are having an organizing meeting on Wednesday, February 12th from 6:30 to 8 PM at Marycrest Manor. If you would like to get involved or want to learn more about this effort, please contact Dr Suzanne De Benedittis. You can email me at CCNAEPC@gmail.com.
At the January 21st 2014 General Meeting of the Culver Crest Neighborhood Association, a new Board of Directors were elected. New Board members are:
Per the new By-Laws, the four top vote getters will be the first to serve for a two year period. The remaining 5 positions will be open for re-election (for two year terms) next year. Thus in any year, four or five seats will be open for re-election. Top four vote-getters were: Rich Kissel, John Romanak, Howard Lichtman, and Antoine Durr.
The Board of Directors of the Culver Crest Neighborhood Association adopted a revised set of By-Laws for the organization. The By-Laws haven’t been updated since CCNA was founded 9 years ago. The major impetus for updating them was to have staggered board terms, rather than re-electing all 9 seats every year. In addition, the update brought the By-Laws more in line with the manner in which CCNA has actually operated over the last 9 years.
It’s that time of the year, CCNA elections, happening at tonight’s General Meeting. 7pm, Marycrest manor. Here’s the agenda for the meeting:
The following people have submitted their names for candidacy for CCNA’s Board of Directors:
Mike Bauer, Suzanne Debenedittis, Wena Dows, Antoine Durr, Khin Khin Gyi, Kyle Jones, Howard Lichtman, Ron Ostrin, Rich Kissel.
The next General Meeting of the Culver Crest Neighborhood Association will be on Tuesday October 1, 2013, at the El Rincon Cafetorium, and will be a Culver City School Board Candidates’ Forum
All seven School Board candidates will be at the Forum: Steve Levin, Kathy Paspalis, Susanne Robins, Karlo Silbiger, Vernon Taylor, Claudia Vizcarra and Robert Zirgulis. In early November, Culver City will be voting for three of the candidates. In our forum, each candidate will make an opening statement and then will answer questions posed by the Moderator, Ron Ostrin. Written questions will be solicited from the audience and asked by the Moderator. All Culver City voters are welcome to attend.
We will also have a brief updates from some of our subcommittees, including our Emergency Preparedness efforts and Neighborhood Watch. Questions for the candidates may be posed in the comments section of this post.
